Dandelion Fire

Dad bought me Dandelion Fire a sequel to 100 Cupboards. And really you should read them both!! Although Dandelion Fire is goes at a faster pace than 100 Cupboards, it is extremely unique. I also would recommend Leepike Ridge by the same author.
With this said I will stop writing and start reading!

The Pear Tree

By Victoria
Once upon a time there lived an old, old rich man. He had two very lovely daughters and a very plain daughter. On his deathbed, he pleaded for them to express their wishes so that he may fulfill them if he could. The eldest daughter quickly asked her wish, to marry her friend and have her father's approval blessing. Her father granted it. And she lived happily. He also gave the next daughter her wish, to own the house for she intended to become an old maid. And she lived peacefully. But when the plain daughter expressedher desire, the old pear tree, he angrily refused to grant one so simple. "Why would you want a pear tree when I could purchase you riches!!" he scoffed. The girl calmly replied,"I, as a child, have often sat by it, dreaming and pondering. It makes me peaceful and calm." The father mocked her, "Fine! Have your pear tree! Let your sisters grow faithfully while you are devoured by povety!" Then he dismissed her from the room.
So the girl packed her few belongings and moved to the pear tree's dome. And though she lived in poverty, she was at peace. What more could she ask for? The birds sang, the brook chattered, the tree creaked, the sun shined, and the flowers danced. The tree gave her food and the brook her water. The sunshine warmed her and the animals visited her.
Years passed. As always she leaned back on the pear tree, sighed her content, and presently slubered. The beat of hooves woke her, and a man galloped through the clearing."Oh!" gasped the girl for she had completely forgotten her past life. The man looked scared and his horse, tired. Graciously offered her little world to meet their needs. The man gladly agreed and stayed for awhile. One day while they were talking Peter, the man, suddenly jumped up and gazed around," I would have never thought so much beauty is wasted! For people do not glance at such wonders that you are surviving from. I see now that I rather be here than anywhere else!" Grasping her rough hand, Peter pleaded, "Will you marry me? We shall always live here and raise our children to admire the woods and appreciate it's marvels!" Even though he was rather rash. the girl nodded,"Yes, and let the pear tree, the brook, sunshine, and, animals provide for us!"she added. They were married, right there and then.

And the cats that live there have funny stories of their own.
One tiger limps only for more attention and if you watch she will switch paws!!
There is a bobcat that grew up in a bathtub!
A jaguar that chews his tail for no absolute reason!
And a hilarious lion that sprays boy scouts and talks a ton!
There is a fiersome liger that is very very shy!!

Something to think about.......

Julie: Valentines Day is almost here! *sigh*
Daisy: You mean that horribly romantic holiday where you recieve boxes of store-bought chocolate from your so-called lovers!
Julie: Yes isn't it so interesting that it wasn't always that way?
Daisy: No, lots of holidays are like that! For instance, Halloween was a day of celebrating for the dead and candy got dragged in it!
Julie: So? Candy rocks!
Daisy: And presents are the main idea for Christmas now...........
Julie: I enjoy presents.
Daisy: Who dosen't?! Not to mention Thanksgiving! We stuff ourselves but never think about the hungry pilgrims.
Julie: So what are you trying to say, candy an presents are bad?
Daisy: Not exactly..... I just thought you should know.
Julie: Boy you sure can take the joy out of things!
After awhile.......................
Daisy: So what did you get from Jill or Mike?

Differences and Similarities Of Sea Lions and Walruses

By Victoria
Walruses and sea-lions have several differences regarding their diet, appearances, and personalities. Although they are both carnivorous, the sea lion prefers squid, miniscule fish and sea birds compared to the walrus’ diet of clams, crabs, and mollusks. Weighing around a ton, walruses clearly have more body fat than sea-lions. Have you ever seen a walrus in the circus? Of course not, because walruses cannot be trained like the gifted, enjoyable sea-lions. Climate change is not a problem for the walrus’ rough skin and size-changing blood vessels which keep them swimming in the coldest of waters. If not for the sea-lion’s soft skin there could be serious freezing issues. Sea-lions have darling dog-like faces and a longer body than walruses which possess coarse whiskers and a shorter neck. Shy walruses rarely adventure to the shore like the brave sea-lions. Harsh habitats change in the wintery ice-lands of the Artic Ocean but, amazingly, walruses cope with that as well. Happily, sea-lions waddle around trash-lined coastlines instead of facing the frosty oceans of the Artic Circle. In comparison, both have unique qualities and are both special animals. However, there are still several differences in diets, appearances, and personalities that the walrus and sea-lion will never see “eye to eye” on.
The walrus and sea lion share several similarities which include swimming abilitys, predators, and they have different diets. Swimming around they use their powerful fins when “at sea.” Besides their navigational skills, they are social and curious bystanders along coastlines. Sadly, killer whales, polar bears, and men have decreased their numbers by hoards. However, they are carnivores themselves, living on a diet consisting of plants, clams, fish, crabs, and a variety of sea foods. Since they are on the lookout for dangers, walruses and sea lions safely travel in groups to new coastlines. Both are mammals and members of the entertaining seal family. The similarities of walruses and sea lions are numerous because of their similar behaviors.
