First Night Spokane

Today is the last day of 2008 and tonight is First Night Spokane! First Night Spokane is really fun! The party is held in Downtown Spokane and lasts 'till midnight!
Last year we went and had a blast!!! There are all sorts of amazing stuff to see, including dancing, comedy, orchestra, and art work. Even a kid's place filled to the brim with crafts, magic shows, and more like food!!! YUM!!!!!!!!!!!
One of our favorite stops is the Celtic and Irsh dancers. We watched them for most of the time. At midnight, they count down and BOOM!!!! the fire works spark againest the moon, announcing a new year!
Unfortunately, the weather, chilly and snowy, tells you to wear more than one layer. We about froze last time.....

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Irsh Dance Buddies

So, I hope you read the blogs below or else this will be over-whelming. Did you read them? Good. Okay you proably are wondering more about my fellow students, Heather, Haily, and Megan. I will try to remember their actions and personalties. Megan, a blond-haired blue-eyed kid, was the youngest in the whole 4 person class. She also posed as Haily's "little friend"and had a knack for getting attention. Haily, 17, a blondie, and extremely short for her age, went to a public school. Unfortunately, she irratated the teacher by almost always arriving late. Heather, also 17 and a brown haired and eyed teen, is proably my best friend in the class. She currantly goes to the Oaks which suprized me so much.
These are my Irsh Dance buddies and comrades. We shared several conversations and laughter. Too bad it is over!

Showcase=NERVOUS

I have never been nervous about going on stage before. I tried to convince myself I was not nervous but, that only made me feel worse. Still 4 things happened not helping but increasing my nervous state.
1. Megan wanted to back out, I do not blame her as she hardly knew the piece.
2. Haily strangely did not come, which did not help the teacher's mood.
3. We had to learn the end= 8 1-2-3's
4. We only had 5 minutes to practice it on stage, and that time was cut short for a longer skit
If I seem overly sensative, I am not! All in all I survived and so did Megan and Heather. So it was not that bad right?

Irsh Dance2

I jumped out of my car, and ran to the friendly building of CYT's dwelling. Heather was in the stuffy room calmly talking to our teacher with a thick english-looking book. "Yes, and I go to the Oaks,"she explained to our teacher. "You go to the Oaks? That's so cool!"I interupted making her jump. "Oh hi Victoria, you scared me!" Heather laughed. Mrs.Evans repeated the greeting and added,"Let's start warming up." "Is it time to warm up already? I guess I am a little late, sorry!" I acknowlegded. "Not at all,"replied Mrs.Evans, I knew she was thinking about Haily and Megan who seemed to always be late or absent. Heather and I gladly laid down on the dancing room's floor. I was grateful mom and dad could get me here on time.

Irsh Dance

Not until my dad had kept on wishing aloud that I was going to take Irsh dance, did I even consider taking the new class CYT offered this year. I had never been what some may call "the dancing type" although I did do Balle at one point. Amazingly, I finally gave in as the class I desired to take(Singing in the Rain) was overly full. Tuesday rolled around and I found myself in a very hot, stuffy dance-room with another girl who told the teacher she was Heather. Soon two other students arrived and we started with exercises. I was suprized to learn and remember they also had been in Beauty and the Beast! Their names were Haily and Megan. Our teacher, Mrs. Margert Evans, showed us several dance moves and asked us to copy the Skip-2-3's which I could never get.

I announced later I could not wait for next Tuesday.
